Pair WWII 1943 Canadian 40mm Bofors Brass Shell Case Vases Trench Art

A fantastic pair of original WWII-era 40mm Bofors brass shell cases, both dating from 1943 and subsequently repurposed as decorative vases.

These impressive large brass cases retain their original military base markings, including the 1943 date, with markings indicating Canadian wartime manufacture. Originally produced as ammunition cases for the famous 40mm Bofors anti-aircraft gun, they are substantial pieces of Second World War military history.

Both cases have been neatly finished around the openings and make particularly striking display pieces. Their simple, undecorated appearance allows the original form and aged brass patina of the shell cases to remain the main feature.

Condition: Good vintage condition with genuine age-related patina, tarnishing, surface marks, scratches and areas of discolouration from many decades of use and storage. One has a noticeable small discoloured/marked area to the side. Please study all photographs carefully for condition.

Sold as a pair.

Ideal for a WWII militaria collection, trench art collection, industrial interior or as unusual statement vases/display pieces.

Original vintage military items sold purely as historical and decorative collectables.
